Are you a Technical Buyer with experience of purchasing precision engineered components used to manufacture complex products?

Would you like to be part of a truly innovative team who are producing ground breaking technology, have been recognised with a host of industry awards and played a part in setting world records?

We are seeking a Technical Buyer to source a wide range of mechanical and electronic components, sub contract parts and assemblies and printed circuit boards, both in batches and one-off components.

You will create a strategy for sourcing hard to find parts and components and those with long lead times in order to ensure they are available for production. Purchasing for specific projects and responding to Engineering Change requirements.

2018 was an exceptional year at Integral Powertrain, two of our high-power density Integral e-Drive motors powered the record-breaking run at Pikes Peak in the Rocky Mountains where the times for electric vehicles and the overall speed record were smashed. 

Our e-drive technology has not only set new standards in electric powertrain, our motors have been involved in smashing world records and have since been recognised with a multitude of industry awards. Our success is set to continue with new projects beginning with new and existing customers.

Our Technical Buyer will:

- Purchase for specific projects or programmes, working within strict timing, quality, specification and cost parameters

- Effectively negotiate the price of technical products ensuring the best acquisition cost

- Identify suitable suppliers and secure forward capacity

- Support the expediting of purchased components, resolving any issues which may arise

- Monitor suppliers’ performance and competitiveness

- Resolve any delivery issues that might arise

- Place purchase orders for drawn & non-drawn components

- Keep a close control of stock levels

About You:

- Experience of purchasing in a motorsport or low volume manufacturing environment

- Experience in purchasing mechanical and electronic components and assemblies

- Have a strong understanding of technical drawings and bills of materials (BOM) and possess knowledge of precision manufacturing processes

- Confident in negotiating price / lead time balance in order to maximise value

- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems – ideally Sage Manufacturing

- Ideally a CIPS Membership or significant study towards it

You may previously have worked as a Technical Buyer, Motorsport Buyer, Prototype Buyer, Engineering buyer, Procurement specialist, Purchasing specialist
