The Works are working in partnership with one of the UK's leading manufacturers of specialist equipment offering services from Innovative Design, Consultancy through to Engineering Installation and Commissioning including breakdown and response.

We are now recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager to become part of their well-established team.

Purpose of the role:

To develop, execute and manage supply chain processes including purchasing, materials management and stores to achieve best quality, cost, lead time and delivery performance, creating value for the business and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Supplier life cycle management including selection, approval, development, maintenance and deselection processes, updating the approved supplier list at each stage.
  • Supplier RFQ management obtaining best quality, cost and delivery performance to meet the needs of the business.
  • Forecast, plan, execute and expedite just time in time orders and deliveries to support business, working capital and cash flow management requirements.
  • Challenge current cost base, identifying and executing improvement / cost reduction opportunities to achieve PPV \ MUV targets.
  • Manage stores team to ensure that both physical and administrative stores processes are executed safely, accurately, meeting the required timescales and business requirements in accordance with company procedures.
  • Develop and execute commodity plans to achieve the needs of the business.
  • Develop and maintain supplier information and price books in the operating system.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier order and invoice queries in a timely manner.
  • Develop and report supplier performance in respect of quality, cost and delivery of goods and services.
  • Proactively challenge current procurement policies and business processes to identify and execute continuous improvement.
  • Actively partake in the ongoing development of the business ERP \ MRP and procurements systems \ processes.
  • Provide timely feedback and recovery plans on any delivery, cost, technical and or quality issues that arise.
  • Ensure all purchasing, QHSE and business documentation is completed accurately to the required standard in a timely manner.
  • Coach, develop, manage and build knowledge of the supply chain team to provide optimum support to the business.
  • Identify, execute and manage supply chain resource requirements and processes including recruitment, appraisals, development, overtime and disciplinary activities to ensure the correct levels are available with the required skills sets to meet the needs of the business.
  • Manage, execute and control short and long-term supply chain strategy, objectives and KPI's.
  • Develop, manage, execute and control supply chain documentation ensuring it is available, adhered to and completed correctly by the team.
  • Manage and control supply chain budgets and spend limits, taking appropriate action on adverse variances.
  • Execute team briefs and maintain \ update team KPI's , data and team boards.
  • Adhere to general housekeeping and 5S rules ensuring the team always maintain a clean, tidy and organized working environment.
  • Attend functional and business meetings as required and support other departments in order to meet Company objectives.

Skills Required:

  • 2-3 years' experience of working as a Senior Buyer \ Purchasing \ Supply Chain Manager in an industrial product manufacturing and supply environment.
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships and engagement with internal \ external teams and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure, within tight deadlines, with flexible approach to working hours and a motivated team player.
  • Process driven, detailed and solutions orientated, with experience of working in a formal, continuous improvement culture
  • Strong effective decision making, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent logical reasoning, root cause analysis, deductive problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Good communication & IT skills
  • Full and current UK driving license

Package:

  • Full time Permanent
  • Starting Salary £35,000+ DOE
  • Working Hours: 07:00 - 16:30 Monday - Friday
