Our Client are a well established family business who have been producing and selling their products for over 80 years. Due to continued growth they are now seeking an Operations Manager to join the team.

About the role

Seeking an energetic, organised self-starter with a proven track record in operations management to oversee all aspects of our 24/7 production and distribution. Process and people management will be central to the role, and the successful applicant will have plenty of scope to make a positive impact on the running of this busy enterprise. A sound understanding of Health & Safety, resource planning, process flow and logistics is critical.

Key skills

  • Fluent written and spoken English essential
  • Previous proven experience in an operations role
  • Available to work flexibly to ensure day and night shift coverage
  • Understanding of process development, implementation and monitoring
  • Experienced in maximising production capacity and efficiency
  • Quality control
  • Waste management
  • Efficient stock control
  • Transport management
  • Resourcing and staffing, shift roster planning, recruitment
  • Comfortable questioning the status quo with management and suggesting new/better procedures
  • Enthusiastic and commercially aware with a passion for what we do as an independent, family-owned business
  • Highly organised, proactive, can-do attitude

The ideal candidate

  • Will be looking for a varied role in a busy, friendly team combining strong organisational skills with hands-on people management
  • Will be able to manage, coach and monitor 2-3 direct reports and a 24/7 production team to maximise their performance
  • Will report directly to the Managing Director and provide an essential contribution to business planning, efficiency and strategy
