As a result of our client’s expansion, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Procurement Category Lead to join them.

Position: Procurement Category Lead

Location: Based in Sidmouth, Devon - "an area of outstanding natural beauty"

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 08.30 - 16.30

Salary: £44,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: Generous annual leave, pension scheme, Healthshield plan, confidential counselling service, subsidised restaurant, free parking, enhanced maternity/paternity benefits, Life Assurance Scheme, 31 day’s holiday per year, inclusive of the 8 statutory public holidays. This increases by one day each year until a maximum of 34 days is reached.

The Role

As Procurement Category Lead you will:

  • Support the Head of Procurement on the development, implementation and delivery of Procurement Strategy and associated Procurement Policy
  • Offer guidance and support to key internal stakeholders through adopting a category management methodology that ensures best value for money and procedural and contractual compliance
  • Work collaboratively with external stakeholders to maximise the value of our relationships

About you

As Procurement Category Lead you will:

  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of collaborative and negotiation skills
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Be able to determine the strategic direction for your category
  • Develop and identify future commercial opportunities
  • Build a detailed understanding of your supply chains and maximise value to the organisation through detailed spend analysis.
  • Be able to build strong relationships
  • Have good leadership skills
  • Hold, or be working towards, the achievement of full membership of CIPS
