Senior Customer Supply Planner

The ideal candidate will be experienced in B2B relationships within manufacturing and already fully conversant with ERP systems with MFP/PRO experience which is desirable. Graduate qualification in Supply Chain and/ or Logistics Management is desirable (equivalent experience will be considered).

Comfortable communicating accurately and effectively across all levels of business, focussing on engineering change, production planning and scheduling. With responsibility for analysing current and future data, developing process improvements and managing change, a critical role in liaison between departments and businesses to ensure strategic objectives are achieved.

Strong analytical skills and IT systems knowledge are essential along with a process improvement mind-set, problem solving skills and effective multi-tier communication skills.

DUTIES

- Production planning using MFG PRO to determine prioritise daily/ weekly requirements by obtaining and analysing information pertaining to build programme variance, receiving facility/ supply constraints, internal/ external disputes, quality/ packaging/ transport problems etc to balance stock levels against production requirements to avoid misfits.

- Investigate discrepancies between computer stock and instigate corrective action if necessary.

- Continual review of customer schedules to ensure their integrity and ensure material availability, consistent with attaining target stock levels.

- Determine/ maintain stock against components under own control in line with the Company inventory policy.

- Participate in the implementation of modifications, ensuring change points are captured on the business system to enable optimum introduction dates to be determined, formulating schedules in line with Company procedures.

- Liaise with Suppliers, Purchase/ Company Timing and Engineering Departments regarding the introduction/ interchangeability of new parts and their status.

- Negotiate with customer, the finance for "special transport" to ensure costs are kept to an absolute minimum consistent with maintaining the supply of components for Production continuity.

- Where quality problems threaten production continuity liaise with Quality, Production and if required, business management departments to ensure that all necessary steps to meet customer requirements are expedited in a timely and controlled manner.

- Assist other departments as required; Accounts Department in resolution of invoice queries, highlight possible discrepancies to Production Process, perform Stores searches for mislaid consignments.

- The preparation and publication within the supply base, the business and the group of transparent KPI`s.

- Fully support manufacturing and deal with any internal/ external issues which effect the customer requirements.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

- Graduate qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics management - Desirable.

- Experience in a material control/ Production Planning environment.

- Demonstrated customer-interfacing experience.

- Lean Manufacturing environment - Desirable.

- Manufacturing Process, Logistics, MRP and Supplier Management.

- Good communication and influencing skills.

- Strong computer skills and aptitude in Microsoft Office.

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

- Able to work independently (self-starter).

- Strong organisational skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet project timelines/ deadlines.
