Personnel Selection are looking for an experienced Buyer, from engineering background, ideally with knowledge in electronic and mechanical consumables.

The ideal candidate for the role of Buyer is:

  • Commercially astute and with an engineering mindset
  • A high level of knowledge in supply chain
  • Strong negotiation and budgeting skills
  • The ability to work with specified suppliers and gain strong relationships
  • CIPS qualification is desirable

The role of Buyer will involve:

  • The procurement of goods and services at the best possible prices
  • Forecasting and collaborative planning with suppliers
  • Responsible for management of suppliers, ensuring that materials meet quality and specification
  • Raise purchase orders in line with MRP and PO systems requirements
  • Negotiation of contracts to secure materials and obtain best-cost opportunities based on long term agreements and fixed pricing
