Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes

At FCO Services, your job will just mean more. Government-level customers in the UK and around the world rely on us to keep information, assets and people safe, by providing secure construction, secure logistics, and secure digital solutions. We build and renovate embassies. We make secure deliveries across continents. We help governments move servers securely to the cloud. And by helping us deliver a strategic procurement service and enabling us to make smarter decisions about the products, services and suppliers we need, you’ll play an important role in our ongoing work.

Ensure strategic procurement for vital projects

Following a recent realignment of our procurement teams, our experienced procurement professionals now take on category-specific roles. Right now, we’re looking for one IT/Telecoms Category Manager, and two Multi-Category Managers who will work across a number of categories including Logistics, Estates, Security, Professional Services and Corporate Services. Whichever you choose, as well as developing and implementing effective category strategies, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the procurement process, including: specification; pre-selection; invitation to tender; award; negotiation and contract management planning. There will also be opportunities for you to expand our supply chain and sourcing activities overseas, helping make sure we provide value for money for taxpayers.

Build your experience and make exceptional impact

FCO Services will enable you to build on your existing skills, following a procurement training plan. You will be skilled at identifying potential suppliers, conducting negotiations, managing contracts, and ensuring suppliers deliver on an ongoing basis. Time spent in a Category Manager role is good but not essential, as long as you have experience of implementing category strategies. Knowledge of relevant UK and EU regulations would also be very useful, as would excellent communication skills and a proven ability to manage projects and people.

Find impact beyond what you’ve experienced

At FCO Services, our work protects the UK’s interests both at home and overseas. Our customers, who include the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, look to us to respond with speed, agility and innovation to their ever-changing security challenges. This gives every job here added significance and provides the ideal environment for you to hone your skills and expertise. Join us in this role and you’ll make a real impact on the procurement team, as you help deliver a more strategic approach to services needed around the world. In short – it’s your job, bigger.

All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.
