The Mechanical & Electrical Category / Project Manager

In the role as Mechanical & Electrical Category / Project Manager you will work within the projects team reporting to the head of projects to develop a procurement strategy and ongoing support. You will also be expected to play a key role in delivering the annual savings plan.

You will also take full category manager responsibilities and identified sub categories within Projects/M&E Category/Fabric; your main priority is delivery of savings, cost management to contribute to the SC&P target. Sourcing and tendering will be key.

Other Category Management responsibilities such as stakeholder management, supporting operations, assurance & risk management, and supplier performance management.

Experience and Qualifications

Attributes and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years procurement experience within a complex and challenging business environment
  • Highly knowledgeable in contracting processes, tools and systems ideally in direct and Indirect sectors, as well as deep understanding of critical clauses and T&Cs.
  • An extensive knowledge of current procurement practice and tools
  • Ability to self-organise and prioritise workload effectively
  • Good change leadership orientation to ensure improvements can be identified and captured
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills with the ability to operate at all levels of the company and with suppliers is essential
  • Results orientated - a strong focus on the achievement of targeted results
  • The ability to communicate, work effectively and build relationships with suppliers, colleagues and teams at all levels.
  • Effective at programme management, project execution and delivery

Qualifications:

  • Educated to Graduate level
  • CIPS / MBA graduate is preferred.

Remuneration

The successful candidate can expect to receive an annual salary of up to £60,000 p.a. depending on experience with bonus and negotiable package
