Export Compliance Manager - Aerospace/Defence

My clients who are a world leader in the innovative defence and security systems is currently recruiting for an Export Compliance Manager to join their very successful and expanding business on a permanent basis.

The Export Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring new international agreements, orders and contracts from UK business are fully reviewed for compliance with export control regulations. To manage and implement procedures and policies for all activities related to the export and re-export of items and technology, in a manner that is both compliant with regulations and fulfils the overall company objectives, related to quality, cost and delivery for the applicable the area of responsibility.

Experience working in the Defence industry would be advantageous and not essential for the Export Compliance Manager role, a strong understanding of US Export procedure is required for this position - ITAR / EAR.

Location - Stevenage

Type - Permanent

Salary - £35,000 - £57,000

The key roles and responsibilities of the Export Compliance Manager role and not be limited to:

• Supporting/managing the activities with regards to all aspects of export control within area of responsibility
• Providing front end business process support on export related issues from first contact/RFQ through to business winning, organising/attending prospect reviews
• Supporting the Business Line activity for UK elements
• Providing expert advice to Procurement, Contracts, Sales and Project departments on matters relating to UK / US Export regulations and best practice.
• Undertaking contracts, orders and agreements reviews from UK business for compliance with export control regulations and company policies.
• Providing the necessary expertise in order to transfer the prospect into program status within the export compliance organisation to ensure smooth transition.

Key skills and experience required for Export Compliance Manager role and not limited to:

• Proven experience working in a similar Trade Compliance / Export role
• A working knowledge of the UK Export Control process and US Departments of Defence (ITAR) and Commerce (EAR) licensing procedures
• Experience in the Exporting of Goods and Technology
• Must be eligible to gain SC clearance (UK eyes only)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
