Purchasing Assistant - Retail
Based in Corby, Northamptonshire
Salary up to £22,000 + Excellent Benefits
One of the UK's most recognisable and established high street names is currently looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant at their studio in Corby, Northamptonshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual with a good understanding of supply chain procedures and market research knowledge to join a high-profile business and develop as part of their fast-paced creative team.
The Role
You would be tasked with helping maintain inventory levels and negotiating deals with potential Far East suppliers, conducting market research and regular price comparisons to ensure the company consistently reaches optimum return on investment. Duties will include…
o Researching potential suppliers, evaluating offers and negotiating prices and schedules
o Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
o Raising and tracking orders, maintaining internal database
o All administrative functions necessary to develop and purchase new products
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience providing support in a fast-paced purchasing environment, with a good understanding of supply chain procedures, market research and cost analysis, plus shipping / freight processes. You must be able to work on your own initiative and possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at various levels. In addition, you should have the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently, and will require excellent attention to detail and the drive to consistently achieve results. Advanced Excel skills will also be required.
