A large corporate business require a Junior Category Manager. Supporting the development of category management and supplier management strategies, this role would suit procurement professionals with experience of running tenders.

The Junior Category Manager will join a large procurement function within a business that supports professional development and internal mobility. The role will focus on supporting cost management activities, via; tendering, negotiations, contract reviews and market analysis. The Junior Category Manager will support the Category Management team in the formulation of procurement strategies.

Specific duties of the Junior Category Manager, include:

  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, build their requirements into procurement strategy
  • Develop sourcing strategies and contribute to supplier selection activities
  • Ownership of the tender process, from cradle-to-grave
  • Negotiate commercial and contractual relationships with the supply chain
  • Support wider business and procurement colleagues in regards to category management and supplier management

Junior Category Managers should meet the following criteria:

  • Procurement, Sourcing or Purchasing experience
  • Experience of running and managing tenders
  • Experience of negotiating and generating cost savings
  • An appreciation of category management, contract management and supplier management techniques
  • Ability to interface with senior stakeholders, and communicate effectively
