The Role

To develop and source product ranges which are in line with the brand’s strategy and deliver against KPIs, for the Company and Distribution brands. To co-ordinate the launch of new items in line with the company deadlines to ensure effective launch and marketing. To explore new avenues of revenue for the company, exploring all opportunities and challenging old concepts for new.

Responsibilities

Sourcing & Product Development

• Source and develop new products and ranges to find new niches and maintain our point of difference in line with the brands.

• Keep up to date with the latest fashions, trends and themes to ensure we are delivering the hottest lines in a timely manner.

• Focus on understanding global sourcing and finding the best source.

• Attend trade fairs and visit suppliers as required.

• Work closely with the Design Team on New Product Development, to ensure that these are commercial ideas to expand the exclusive range of products.

 

Range Planning

• After each season, review the analysis to understand what worked/didn’t work.

• Lead range review meeting for each launch and collaboratively produce range review document with Merchandiser.

• Put together timeline for each launch with the Head of Buying to ensure that all departments are able to achieve the necessary deadlines.

• Collaborate with merchandising to contribute to the seasonal forecasts and initial order quantities for new lines.

• Ensure sufficient samples are available for purchasing, design and compliance immediately after review.

• Work closely with design and marketing to ensure commercial and optimized marketing of product in every channel.

• Ensure pricing is in line with the market and margin requirements are fully met for all channels.

Trading

• Manage in-season trading with merchandising, maximizing sales and profit and going back for more on fast lines and identifying slow lines early to mark down and manage out of.

• Review weekly reports to understand trade and strong/poor performers to build on for following season

• Resolving production and supply issues.

• Awareness of the competition, ranges, pricing and promotions.

Supplier Management

• Manage supplier relationships to optimize service levels and get the best from them.

• Resolve compliance and service level issues.
