Assistant Buyer / Planner
Manufacturing
Location: Preston
Salary: £18,000 - £22,000 plus benefits
We are currently working alongside an award winning Manufacturing Company, Due to their on going growth are now seeking an Assistant Buyer / Planner to join their team. The right candidate will have a clear progression route within the company from material planner growing to a full buyer for the company with increasing responsibility.
Working from their offices based in Preston; you will be the support system for the manufacturing team in ensuring on time delivery of materials to maintain the smooth running of the company.
Responsibilities
- Create process and transmit purchase orders for all raw material supplies to ensure minimum stock holding and on time delivery using an MRP System.
- Support other business functions as required in processing purchase orders through to completion.
- Liaise by telephone/e-mail with all suppliers as necessary to ensure on time supply of goods.
- Process invoice queries relating to discrepancies in quantity, part number or description and pass for approval;
- Liaise with the warehouse team leader to ensure appropriate supplier action is taken when required
- Provide accurate information to support daily meetings with regards to any supplier actions.
- Assist the purchasing department with administrative task as required.
The successful candidate will need to have previous experience working within a similar role preferably within a manufacturing environment. You will have strong organisational and communication skills, a positive and hard working approach and a proven ability to deliver.
