BCA operates the largest used-vehicle marketplace in the UK and Europe operating in 10 countries, 60 different locations, selling 1.3 million vehicles per annum. BCA touches over 3.5m vehicles a year as it provides services along the vehicle life cycle from port to dealerships for new vehicles to refurbishment and logistics for used vehicles and the core re-marketing and auction operations.

Main purpose of job:

The purpose of this role is to grow BCA Buyer value through the acquisition of new Buyers and commercial growth of existing Buyers.

Identify, retain and grow both Manufacture and Independents Buyers. Recruit new, and win-back lapsed BCA Buyers in an allocated region and increase Buyer value through active account management.

The role is field based.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Promote BCA physical and online sales channels offered by BCA, supporting BCA Auction and Vendor programmes.
  2. Increase BCA share of wallet (SOW) across Buyer portfolio to promote BCA as the primary source of vehicles for their business.
  3. Demonstrate BCA’s products and services including (but not limited to) Auction View and Live Online. Ensure the appropriate BCA loyalty card is in place and facilitate introductions for BCA Partner Finance and Dealer Pro. Identify opportunities to increase penetration of current and future BCA products and services.
  4. Create leads and appointments to visit potential BCA buyers in the allocated region.
  5. Make appointments and manage diary.
  6. Create, build and maintain successful working relationships with principal vendor representatives and their Dealers whilst seeking to maximise business retention and long term loyalty.
  7. Attend sales to welcome potential buyers to BCA and support their first buying experience. Maintain a relationship with local auction centres (This may involve attending dedicated hospitality events).
  8. Build and maintain a relationship with the National Accounts team and participating auction centres, keeping them updated with buyer contact activities and requirements.
  9. Gain customer insight from Buyers to help make recommendations that can improve marketing effectiveness, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  10. Attend training courses to improve product knowledge and self-development, as well as site visits to understand all areas of the business.
  11. Gain customer insight from Buyers to help make recommendations that can improve marketing effectiveness, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  12. Supporting BCA vendor and branch teams in supporting marketing activities and projects.
  13. Attend industry events when required.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm

Essential Criteria

  • Sales/account management experience desirable.
  • Automotive sector background an advantage.
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Demonstration skills.
  • Good relationship building skills.
  • Self-starter.
  • Happy to travel
