We are a small privately owned Pharmaceutical company who pride themselves on a great working environment and a very friendly atmosphere.

We are expanding our purchasing/supply chain team which has resulted in this vacancy.

The job is fast moving, no two days are ever the same, you will be dealing with both national and international contacts.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 09.00am-17.30pm.

This is a developing role and will provide great experience to the right candidate in a dynamic but very rewarding environment!

The main duties and requirements are detailed below:

  • Responsible for sourcing raw materials and packaging materials for products in UK and foreign countries

  • Co-ordinating requesting for quotations (RFQ) from suppliers

  • Maintain excellent communication and working relationships with all external suppliers and internal departments

  • Liaise with suppliers to review and renegotiate where necessary and implement.

  • Liaise with Production & Warehouse departments and plan ahead accordingly

  • Obtain key understanding of business requirements and ensure stock levels are managed accordingly

  • Monitor and support Warehouse to manage stock balances electronically on Excel

  • Liaise with QA and ensure all purchases are made in compliance to regulatory and company SOPs

  • Provide data/statistics on supplier performance and feedback on performance to Claims Management team.

  • Support the business in dealing with any issues relating to service, cost or profitability as a consequence of our supplier network.

  • Support the business in ensuring that complaints are managed with Regulatory and business SLA`s and that root cause is identified and fed back to the business to make appropriate changes to minimise or stop the issue reoccurring.

  • Support the audit of the business and supplier regularly against KPI`s and SLA`s. Ensure outcomes are fed back to the team and that action is undertaken to minimise or stop the issues reoccurring

  • Raising daily purchase orders for all site departments

  • Liaise with all on site departments regarding purchasing requirements

  • Assist Management where necessary

    Essential

  • Degree educated (ideally science)

  • Excellent positive attitude

  • Fully conversant and high level of proficiency in Excel and Word

  • Able to display key urgency when required and able to cope in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent Team Player
