Purpose of the Role:

Managing the warehouse operations, driving continuous improvement in all areas and ensuring performance issues are addressed expeditiously. To deliver against agreed financial and operational performance measures by Overall performance will be measured by P&L delivery.

Experience

·Significant senior management experience in a complex multi temperature FMCG. Must demonstrate strong and broad knowledge of all aspects the business.

·Able to demonstrate a high level of financial and commercial awareness.

·Warehouse background with an excellent, referenced track record of real and repeated success through continuous improvement and change management.

Personal Management

  • Maintain staff discipline, attendance and morale.
  • Effectively manage the dispatch team in line with the company requirements.
  • Instigate change in people’s attitude and perception of the department.
  • Responsible for the recruitment and selection of personnel to meet budgeted staffing levels.
  • Provide training and on-going assessments on Team Members.
  • Develop team individuals and self in line with departmental objectives.
  • Provide feedback to individuals and teams on their performance.
  • Create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Job Content / Principle Accountabilities & Objectives

The role consists of the following:

  • Team. Ensure that the appropriate team structures are in place. Own training and development of the warehouse team to ensure personal development. Delegate and give real ownership to the team whilst retaining responsibility
  • Financial. Monitor and deliver shift Budget specifically on labour spend, overtime spend, to include repairs and renewals.
  • Recruitment. Lead the recruitment process in line with Company policy and procedure to include the interviewing and training of all new staff
  • Culture. Create a working environment where individuals feel able to continually challenge the status quo, take measured risks and are encouraged to embrace change consistent with the business strategy and values.
  • KPI’s & control. Work continuously to achieve the set KPI targets and communicate the key elements of this throughout the warehouse team
  • Technical. Work proactively with the Technical team to ensure excellence and actively encourage a problem solving dialogue between functions
  • Human Resources. Actively manage the HR processes in line with Company procedure
  • Service. Create culture of excellence regarding service to both internal and external customers. To include the investigation and progression of service failures to ensure repeat issues are avoided
