Despatch Operations Manager

We are currently recruiting for our well established client who are based in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has worked previously in a Despatch area that is looking to progress up to the next level.

The main duties of the role will include -

• Working with and learning the role of the current Operations manager
• Picking orders accurately and quickly and sending them out to customers
• Packing boxes to their optimum weight
• Use of forklift in and around the warehouse
• Stock Control, dealing with stock issues and returns
• Arranging Couriers for deliveries and returns, dealing with carrier queries.
• Organising relevant paperwork including scanning delivery notes onto the IT system
• Any other ad hoc duties that may arise such as fire alarm testing and vehicle checking
• Willing to be cross trained so that they can cover other roles as required

The ideal candidate must have a good attention to detail, be a team player. Be physically fit as the job involves lifting, trust worthy, honest, responsible, reliable and able to use their own initiative. Working to tight deadlines for Couriers, must be able to multi task, have good IT skills and able to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and colleagues. A Counterbalance Forklift Licence is desirable.
