Our client is the UK’s largest manufacturer and converter of flexible and permanent magnetic materials. They are a leader in the provision of magnetic materials and add value through design, manufacture and engineering at their Sheffield site. Founded in 1984 their specialist knowledge and industry leading technical expertise is supporting retailers, printers, manufacturers and users of magnetic materials in the UK and Europe. As an ISO9001 accredited company for both design and manufacture, their processes ensure a consistently high quality of product and service. A key element of their programme of ongoing improvements and planned growth is the recruitment of an Operations Manager to become a key member of their management team.

In this role, you will be expected to deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring 'On Time In Full’ delivery, right first time whilst ensuring the facility operates at optimum productivity. You will also play a central role in managing and developing team leaders and optimising all manufacturing activities to achieve company targets. You will ensure the manufacturing facilities perform to their maximum potential and that all resources (people/plant/transport/handling) are efficiently utilised. Working closely with all departments within the business, and as part of the senior team, you will also contribute to the development of strategic plans. Improving efficiency in systems, processes and productivity is a key part of this role as is monitoring performance and implementing change where necessary. You will build a culture where consistently high quality is paramount and continuous improvements are the norm.

To be shortlisted you will need to demonstrate a track record of achievements in a senior position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will have an engineering background in a relevant industrial sector, have an understanding of CAD and the ability to interpret technical documents. We will need to see evidence of strategic planning, operational excellence, problem solving, tracking & measuring performance, change management and an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety. The business is customer focused and therefore we are looking for someone who is adept at exceeding what customers expect so production planning and control tools & techniques will be essential.You will need to be a visible, hands on, natural leader with a wealth of experience in building teams & internal relationships through mentoring, coaching and encouraging. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be systems and process driven with a flair for everything "operational".
