From day one you will have an open remit to strategically identify, build and develop a cost effective competitive and stable supply chain.

Key to the role will be managing multiple key supplier relationships, ensuring supply can meet demand. As a result of several new key contracts, it is anticipated that a number of new agreements will need to be made with the mitigation of risk in mind.

This is a senior role within the Operations department, where you will be given autonomy to influence and shape the performance of site operations. For the right candidate this role can also offer genuine career development and succession.

Key responsibilities are distributor and supplier management, improving key commercial relationships whilst implementing systems and processes that will benefit the business in years to come.

You’ll identify, implement and manage the relationship with several distribution partners to ensure a cost effective and competitive service, continuously seeking opportunities to improve efficiencies and control costs.

Forecasting future requirements and maintaining stock levels will be critical so you will need to have a strong understanding of manufacturing principles.

Ideally you will already have a trusted list of suppliers and will certainly be an experienced procurement professional with at least 5 years industry experience. Whilst a qualification would be a desirable, a tangible record of success in buying or procurement management for a manufacturing company is essential.

You’ll be planned, analytical with the ability to work cross functionally and manage stakeholders across the business. With high levels of energy and tenacity, you’ll demonstrate a real desire to succeed, communicating clearly to all levels across the network. With exceptional knowledge of a quality, stable supply base, you’ll be at ease negotiating ensuring the best service, price and quality.
