Procurement Manager: £46,000 - £49,000 + Benefits

For an exceptional, multiple-award-winning ALMO focused on delivering high-quality housing for residents in over 21,000 homes, we're recruiting a Procurement Manager. Reporting to the Asset Manager, the Procurement Manager will lead, coach and develop a team of 2 to manage procurement of contracts and consultants focusing on Social Value Initiatives, high-level customer service, effective contact management and performance management. The Procurement Manager will be joining a well-established and high-performing Property Services Team who delivers an annual capital investment programme of £40M.

Main Duties:

  • Provide full range of procurement services including the procurement of new contracts for works and services
  • Maintenance of the Contracts Register; Ensure continuity of service delivery supported by procurement and live contracts
  • Contributing to procurement and service delivery strategy
  • Conducting procurements, framework direct award and mini-competitions
  • Stakeholder consultation across Council Governance teams, internally and externally
  • Monitor, appraise and report on procurement performance
  • Manage, support and guide junior members of staff on procurement matters
  • Ensure the organisation achieves Best Value in procurement of goods and services

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience working as a procurement manager, providing expert advice on procurement matters
  • Thorough experience and knowledge of procurement options, procedures and processes
  • Working knowledge of procurement legislation including leasehold management
  • Knowledge of contracts and framework agreements
  • Knowledge of ALMO's range of services
  • Ideally a procurement qualification
