Your new role as Logistics / Carrier Manager is to support the warehouse and client service functions for carrier and transport requirements with third party carriers.

Description

As Logistics / Carrier Manager you will be supporting the Warehouse and Client Service functions with the third party carriers.

Spend is across domestic parcel carriers, post, pallets and same day/dedicated transport. There is also a growing international carrier spend along with:

  • Day-to-day responsibility for all things Ttransport, particularly focused on the northern, daily liaison with carriers and project planning for major projects
  • Support CS teams in resolving issues and being the point of escalation for carrier related issues
  • Strategic ownership for supplier analysis and selection including establishing long-term supplier contracts
  • Monthly KPI & Contractual compliance reviews with key suppliers
  • Financial ownership of all carrier and insurance claims/credits
  • Ownership of Remote Dispatch service - virtual fulfilment between supplier and client via systems
  • Occasionally pursue strategic initiatives for cost and service improvements.
  • Working with internal Team Members to improve the client experience on failed first time deliveries
  • Keep abreast of the carrier market, trends and service offerings

Profile

To be successful with your application with Logistics / Carrier Manager you will be an adaptable individual comfortable with switching between both the operational and analytic aspects of the role.

You will be comfortable with communication at all levels within a compact management structure in a very fast-paced, growth orientated environment.

  • Significant carrier market experience, ideally client side and/or having performed a similar role within a similar fulfilment orientated / parcel led organisation
  • Strong analytical and spreadsheet/IT skills
  • Commercially aware, able to balance service and cost considerations, and support Commercial teams to develop new carrier-orientated revenue streams
  • Effective leadership with can do mentality
  • Effective communicator at all levels
  • Able to assess current work methods, develop ideas and work with colleagues to support a continuous improvement strategy across the business
