Purchasing Assistant, Fixed Term for 6 months
Salary £20,000 per annum
The role….
Working for a well-established and unique organisation based in York City, this is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with some experience in Purchasing and/or processing of purchase orders to take the next step in their career. You’ll be part of a growing, fast paced business with a strong reputation; a market leader with a focus on quality and innovation.
Key duties will include:
Ensuring the continued provision of the best quality goods and services
Purchasing of materials for the business at the most competitive price
Process and co-ordinate sub-contract requirements
Working to reconcile invoices against purchase orders
Processing requisitions and purchase orders for internal customers
Reviewing supplier performance and dealing with any performance issues that arise
Ensuring total adherence to SLAs
Supporting with internal corporate travel and booking hotel accommodation and transport
Negotiating with suppliers on cost and service levels/lead times
Providing administrative support to the wider Purchasing team
Responding effectively and professionally to requests from internal customers
The successful candidate…..
Will have recent experience in processing purchase orders or working within a purchasing team in a supporting role. You will thrive in a varied and busy role, will be a hands-on team player with strong problem solving skills, as well as excellent planning and organisational skills. A good understanding of cost control and the ability to manage changing priorities effectively will make you a strong candidate for the role.
