We spend roughly half of our waking hours at work.

Add in the fact that we're hardwired to like variety, to be doing the same thing day in day out for 50% of our time doesn't sound the most appealing, right?

So as a procurement professional, it makes sense to have variety to keep things interesting.

Sure, some people will enjoy being specifically focussed on a particular category, but if you sit in the camp that yearns to broaden your experience in different categories, this could be the solution.

A Nottingham based business are looking for a Senior Buyer to cover project related spend.

It's the type of role where you're not just focused on one category. Perfect if you've had enough of managing just IT spend, for example.

By networking with your internal stakeholders, you'll be taking the lead on managing sourcing and contracting activity on anything related to project spend. This could cover a wide range of categories from FM, IT,and HR contracts, through to marketing, utilities, and fleet.

There are category managers in the business to support on the intricacies of particular categories. You'll be the person translating stakeholder needs in to a procurement plan of action.

Some will say jack of all trades, master of none.

You say Buyer of all trades, master of stakeholder management, supplier engagement, defining sourcing specs, sourcing, and contract negotiation.

Sounds good?

If you have experience in indirect procurement and would like to add a bit more variety to your portfolio, we'd love to speak to you.
