Zachary Daniels are currently a seeking an Assistant Buyer to work within a multi-channel retail business with ambitious growth plans.
You will work alongside the Senior Buyer to ensure smooth running of the department. Experience as an Assistant Buyer in a previous role is essential. You will be involved with the whole buying and development process from concept and design to range selection and management of the product from idea to finished item. You will bring the ranges to life in shops and support marketing colleagues designing and marketing your ranges.
You'll own and manage a range of products to achieve sales and margin targets. You'll make decisions on the total range strategy and you'll be responsible for the Own brand products within it.
Here are just some of the things you'll be involved in
- You'll select suppliers from a UK and worldwide supply base
- Negotiate the cost prices, and define the initial retail selling prices.
- Manage the ongoing relationships with the suppliers for the ranges and support the annual joint business plan along with the supplier term agreements.
- You'll be responsible for the 'better buying' targets for your categories including driving cost reductions and move supplier income to improve ongoing costs.
- Work cross-functionally with suppliers to solve problems and ensure we deliver right first time.
- You'll plan, negotiate and load promotions for the category by working in conjunction with the Merchandising and Promotions teams.
- Support the Senior Buyer on range reviews and other projects as required

- At least 1 year experience of managing a category
