Road Freight Procurement Specialist Freight Forwarder

We are currently recruiting a Road Freight Procurement Specialist for an innovative tech focused logistics business based in London. This is a newly created position that comes with excellent development opportunities and longer term career prospects.

Reporting into the Head of Department, responsilibilities of this role will include:

• Staying up-to-date on all market pricing, current coniditions and cost competitiveness
• Assisting on short and long term pricing exercises
• Creating tools for analysing market conditions and keeping team members informed on latest developments
• Managing hauliers contracts, rates, and maintenance
• Assisting with diversions & other shipment / operational exceptions requiring carrier intervention
• Creating tools for internal use to build efficiency and share knowledge, both within the team and company
• Building a strong working relationship with transportation service providers to support the success of the supply chain. Understand their business strengths, weaknesses, capabilities and future opportunities.

Applicants should have:

• 4+ years experience within a similar role with another shipper/forwarder
• Strong analytical, data managment and IT skills
• A positive attitude, happy to roll sleeves up and get stuff done
• The desire to work in a start-up environment
• An adaptable mindset with the willingness to continual learn and develop

The successful candidate can expect a base salary betweem £35,000 and £40,000 plus benefits and excellent development opportunities.
