I'm working with an excellent business based in Redditch in their search for a Purchasing Assistant, reporting to the purchasing manager. This role will work as part of the team to develop an understanding of processes and be involved in how to buy services and products and manage contracts and suppliers.
Duties Will Include:
·PPE ordering and invoicing.
·Preparation of spend reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
·Spend analysis by category.
·Maintenance of quarterly pricing.
·Preparation of a quarterly Market Intelligence report for the business which will involve undertaking research and information gathering.
·Set up on new suppliers with JDE system.
·Agile set ups.
·Manage supplier reviews request process.
·Maintenance of supplier contacts list.
·Analysis of supplier capabilities.
·Manage and control samples across all categories.
·Involvement in weekly meeting with Material Control to highlight supply issues.
·Monitoring of NDA's (Non-Disclosure Agreements), Terms and Conditions and Contacts between company and suppliers
·Supporting and setting up of Sourcing events eg. SoRA and innovation events
·Be involved in non-direct spend areas across the business to explore cost saving opportunities
·Execute ad-hoc projects within the Sourcing discipline but also in a wider context as needed by the business.
·Take responsibility for leading projects for opportunities exist.
·Spend time learning material management processes and provide cover on an ad-hoc basis.
Our ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Business Management or equivalent or have relevant experience in a similar environment.We expect that you will have a good level of literacy, numeracy and IT skills including MS Excel.You must have excellent communication and organisational skills and have attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and in a timely manner.You must be a team player and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
