A leading outsourcing business require a Junior Buyer to select and manage suppliers on behalf of customers. Applicants should have commercial (purchasing, sales, customer services) experience in a B2B environment, or be recent graduates.

This is an exciting end-to-end commercial opportunity, involving; procurement, customer service and supplier management. The role would suit a recent graduate within a business or commercial discipline, or somebody working in a commercial B2B environment in - purchasing, supply chain, sales or customer services.

The Junior Buyer will work closely with customers to understand their needs/requirement and use this information to partner them with the most suitable supplier.

Specific duties of the Junior Buyer include:

  • Research new suppliers in response to client requests
  • Manage the tender and purchasing process to award contracts to suppliers
  • Negotiation with potential suppliers
  • Relationship management - build positive and strong relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Supplier performance monitoring and review meetings on behalf of customers

Junior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in a commercial environment - procurement, purchasing, sales, Buyer, Customer services, Account Management
  • Commercial acumen, with experience of negotiations or a flair for negotiation
  • Relationship building and communication skills - able to adopt a customer centric approach
  • Strong IT and administration skills
