Contract Manager & Business Development Manager

An opportunity has now arisen for a Contract Manager with Business Development skills to join a leading and growing Flooring Contractor in the South East.

About the Client:
This clients are specialists in Tiling & Ceramics flooring and contract furnishing, operating throughout the UK and mainland Europe. They are proud to be associated with some of the UK's biggest names in the hotel, leisure, Public Funded and domestic sectors, as well as prestigious one-off projects. The ideal candidate will have Contract Management and Business Development experience. Candidates with experience within Tiling/Ceramics is essential.

About the Role:
Liaise with pre-contracts department and clients to facilitate efficient job hand over on receipt of orders
Carry out pre-start site surveys
Order materials & allocate labour. Co-ordinate your delivery on time- and site- specific basis
Ensure familiarity with site; develop & maintain good relationships with site managers
Understand site requirements & manage multiple installations
Ensure that Health and Safety requirements on site are adhered to at all times
Document & process variation orders
Ensure that projects run to time and on budget
Creating and maintaining an efficient Projects management system, including Tender analysis file
Handling ad hoc client and team requests
Record keeping, filing, managing appointments and correspondence
O&M documentation
Approving purchase invoice payments
Generate new leads and business

About the Candidate:
Numerate and literate with very good spoken English. Good knowledge of various computer packages including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Callidus (desirable)
Prior experience as Contracts Manager with demonstrated understanding of requirements of role
Experience of trade flooring installations
Experience of sub floor preparation
Experience liaising with and instructing labour
Good organiser and time manager
Focus on contract management and delivery of projects on time, on budget and to a high standard
Excellent communication & negotiation skills (verbal and written), with team, suppliers, site supervisors and clients
Good overall IT skills
Strong commitment to the role and delivering on objectives/deadlines
Positive attitude and friendly outlook
Able to work under pressure, prioritising to meet deadlines, juggling busy workload and multi-tasking
High attention to detail
Self-motivated, efficiently managing own time and working alone where necessary, as well as part of a team
Ability to work weekends/evenings/early mornings where required
Must be UK based
