Senior Buyer

Maloy & Flynn recruitment have partnered with a local distribution company as they are now looking to hire a Senior Buyer.

This role has been newly created due to continuous expansion and success of the company.

Responsibilities will include:

- Meeting, managing, assessing, engaging and motivating suppliers
- Drive, manage and motivate a small team to support the sales departments with timely responses to customer driven enquiries
- Proposing and developing alternative supply sources
- Follow customer/market trends to develop Household, Homewares and General Merchandise categories
- Produce timely and accurate buying forecasts, plans, analyses and cost reduction recommendations to enable budgets to be controlled and to make further decisions based on key drivers to improve company profitability
- Identify, assess and monitor additional information/data which could be used in decision making, planning and forecasting
- Provide assistance to the Buying/Managing Director on existing and future negotiations of external service providers
- Utilise the knowledge and initiative of employees

Key requirements:

- Minimum 2.2 grade Degree qualification
- Maths GCSE grade B (or equivalent)

- Far East experience is desirable
- Demonstrable passion for the category / industry
- Retail industry supply experience is desirable
- Experience managing a team is desirable
- Demonstrate effective leadership, motivation and people management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to plan ahead to meet deadlines though personal organisation
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to prioritise multiple concurrent projects

Package:

23 days holidays + statutory
