Our client based on the outskirts of Bolton are looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer.

On a day to day basis you will assist the Procurement Team. As an Assistant Buyer, your duties will include but will not be limited to;

  • Obtaining material prices - ensuring that building and construction materials are sourced and that the best value is negotiated for sites throughout England
  • Liaising with internal customers, suppliers and other departments
  • Building relationships with suppliers
  • Agreeing pricing, delivery and quality standards with suppliers (within given levels of authority) for specific materials, equipment or services
  • Dealing with site and supplier queries
  • Maintenance of order data records and files
  • Invoice authorisation and processing

Person specification;

  • You will be looking for an Assistant Buyer role and a career within Buying
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of the construction industry would be desirable
  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • Highly accurate with a good attention to detail - able to manage queries and recognise errors made internally / externally
  • Ability to liaise effectively at all levels
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, internet and email
