Air Export Clerk

Our client is an International Parcel forwarding service, now looking for an enthusiastic Air Export Clerk to join the team. Serving customers around the world helping them shop in the UK by receiving and exporting goods they have bought online in the UK and Euro growing fast it's an exciting and dynamic place to work with opportunities to develop skills and advance.

The role - Air Freight Export Clerk

In this interesting and fast-moving role, you'll join our small and friendly export team where you will:

* create and issue quotations to overseas prospects and customers
* book shipments with airlines
* negotiate rates
* arranging collections with couriers and sub-contractors
* prepare, control and distribute all required export documentation to counterparts complying with regulations and internal procedures
* follow up shipment status, identify incidents and ensure resolution
* operate our dispatch desk and arrange express courier shipping to countries all over the world at the click of a button
* serve and delight customers by solving their problems and exceeding their expectations
* communicate effectively by email and phone with customers, couriers and within the team

Hours: 41.5 hours per week on average, following a shift pattern of 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm on alternating weeks; plus, Saturday 8am-4pm every other week.
Please note that an intrinsic part of the role is manual handling of goods and the requirement to lift and move packages of all weights and sizes safely.

Skills and Experience
You must
* You will have experience of working in an air export team
* have experience booking with air carriers
* be competent at creating export entries, house air waybills, master air waybills, quotations and certificates of origin
* be quick and comfortable with using computers and tablets
* be a competent user of the internet and online systems
* show good attention to detail
* have good verbal and written communication skills
* be organised
* have the ability to work effectively on your own and in a team
* take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution.
