The Badenoch & Clark Procurement team has been retained to work on this confidential position for a large multi-national organisation.

The Group Head of Supply Chain is responsible for managing the third party procurement function.

Lead the client and the third party's procurement function to implement the procurement strategy including ERP, develop processes and systems required to deliver procurement and post-contract management.

Responsible for the strategic development of procurement to maximise value for money and achieve EU legislation compliance, through the support and development of best practice across the whole organisation. Discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses and costs, so that the company can invest in growth and people.
Provide procurement advice and support for the Senior Executive team, Audit Committee and other senior management structures as may be required for the client
Responsible for the sourcing and management of strategic supply contracts on behalf of the client to maximise economies of scale and maximise any distinct requirements

Main Duties and Specific Accountabilities:
Major responsibilities of the position in order of importance

1. Responsible for the development, implementation and on-going management of the Supply Strategy for the client to influence legal compliance of procurement policy and strategy.
2. To lead the development and implementation of procurement policies and system strategies to support tendering, contracts management, spend analytics and supplier performance management.
3. To lead the development of new supply chains to create greater competition and align the business to category procurement strategies.
4. To drive continuous improvement, best value and quality improvements within the team and departments in challenging existing practices and actively seek ways to achieve better outcomes, contributing to ensure key performance and financial targets are met, with corrective action taken where necessary.
5. Strategize to find cost-effective deals and suppliers, discovering best ways to cut procurement expenses and costs, therefore allowing the Company to invest in growth and people.
6. Deliver YOY savings vs overall budget expenditure and facilitate a cost savings culture at all levels within the organisation.
7. Implement the appropriate frameworks including but not limited to the current outsourcer systems approach.
8.To line manage the outsourcer Procurement Team. To lead and motivate staff, ensuring they receive appropriate support, training and development to achieve their potential.
9.To identify and address procurement training needs across the client organisation for individual and organisational development.
10.Establish and manage future demand and capacity planning including the development to supplier risk management.

Essential:
Proven working experience within a senior Procurement position, ideally gained within at Procurement Director or Head of Procurement level, who can demonstrate tenacity in delivering benefits and has strong leadership skills
Detailed knowledge of EU and UK procurement legislation, supplier and contract management
Experience of procuring contracts
Experience of procurement installation and use of procurement systems
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in 'reading' the market
Strong working knowledge of procurement processes
High level of programme management skills, with experience of ongoing and complex projects is advantageous
Extensive expertise, having operated at a strategic level with a strong track record of success in delivering financial savings
Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers, collecting and analysing data
Proven experience of building and designing a team
Talent and extensive experience in negotiation and networking
Experience gained in the Manufacturing, Engineering or Automotive Background ideally
