A fantastic permanent opportunity is now available for an experienced CHP Operations Manager around Northampton. Our client is an established name in the CHP industry working on a range of CHP Units. Tasks and Responsibilities of the Operations Manager:

  • Schedule work required, ensuring all activity is completed in a timely manner and to the right quality with sufficient resource whilst maximising engineer utilisation and cost recovery
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts by working with engineers and/or clients
  • Work with the Projects Director to make engineers available as required for new projects
  • Identify and implement improvements to work procedures (including remote worker management and on-call procedures)
  • Reviewing engine / site reports to:
  • Identify further actions and follow up as appropriate; and
  • Identify staff training requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation and operation of stock management procedures
  • Staff management
  • Have direct line management for the Operations and Contract Assistant and the Operations Engineer, but take overall HR responsibility for the engineering teams including:
  • Managing staff motivation
  • Managing and providing positive staff communication both directly and via Lead Technicians and the Operations Engineer
  • Manage and resolve conflicts arising within teams; and
  • Recommend and reward strong performers and manage up or out poor performers
  • Work with other departments and sales pipelines to identify resource requirements and develop a recruitment plan as required
  • Review Engineer Standards by attending sites on ad-hoc basis to review and ensure work is carried out to the Company’s high professional standards
  • Ensure Engineers are fully trained in compliance and soft and engineering skills to the necessary level by:
  • Liaising with the Technical Director to identify skills gaps and courses available
  • Reviewing client reports and engine performance levels to identify training requirements
  • Ensuring attendance at in-house training
  • Scheduling and ensuring attendance at appropriate external training sessions
  • Ensuring the completion of “toolbox talks” and ad-hoc training sessions as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all appropriate legislation across the business
  • To carry out such additional duties as deemed necessary by the Managing Director to optimise the smooth operation of the business.
