Senior Buyer

Zachary Daniels are supporting a leading grocery retailer who on the back of delivering some really positive results are looking to bring in a Senior Buyer to the join the team.

We are looking to speak to Senior Buyers who would like a really broad role trading across multiple categories including Seasonal, Non edible-grocery & various general merchandise ranges. This is a great role in which you get to really tailor a range to a variety of stores and really differentiate them from the competition.

What you'll do:

• Shape and Develop a customer focused category strategy
• Build a key supplier network
• Manage the sale, margins and ranges
• Take responsibility for the P&L
• Lead the supplier base to deliver core KPIs through a market leading sales plan
• Make sure the category strategy is delivered as planned, on time and to budget by working tightly with your colleagues

• Experience as a buyer or within a similar/relevant commercial role
• Great analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
• Loads of energy, tenacity and creativity to help develop innovative category strategies
• A natural ability to influence and negotiate with people at a variety of level
• Great team working skills and confidence collaborating with different people across various functions
• Great networking and relationship building skills with both internal and external partners
