A cracking opportunity which has been created by growth within this market dominant manufacturer. My client are seeking a strong Purchasing Manager with a proven track record in people management and development as well as strong background in Industrial Manufacturing.

  • Guarantee the committed budget for the Plant (PPI, PPM, OTD, LCC, T&C’s), decrease the need of cash and help the Supply Chain to decrease the inventory level
  • Guarantee the Committed budget for plant NPR are met
  • For Global commodities, participate in the elaboration of a purchasing strategy. Apply the defined strategy
  • For local commodities (including NPR and Investment), define and lead the purchasing strategy to achieve the targets. Provide the company competitive advantages in the areas of materials, supplies, investments and services
  • Guarantee the Purchasing Performance in Projects. Be involved upstream, guarantee Cost Control, planning, fulfil Project needs. Challenge the Bill Of Material in order to propose price and cost reductions
  • Rationalize the supplier panel to keep only the best suppliers. Manage their QCD Performance. Optimize supplier performance, Including continuous improvement, innovations, obsolescence and total cost of ownership reduction. Develop a supplier base to meet current and future needs
  • Improve the quality delivered by the Suppliers. Reach PPM targets, recover COPQ cost from suppliers, qualify suppliers accordingly to the Activity needs, guarantee that the engineering processes allow suppliers to meet the targets (soundness of the specification, design freeze, control plan for each part)
  • Manage the teams. Perform the annual appraisals, train and recruit purchasers in accordance with the Group guidelines

There is a comprehensive JD for all interested and qualified candidates. This role will be managing a team of 6 which includes Category Buyers, Indirect Buyer and Expeditor's/s

What you need for this role:

  • Proven track record in Purchasing Management from an Industrial background
  • Ability to develop and lead a growing team
  • Degree or CIPS/MCIPS status
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills

Salary for this role is up to £45,000 which comes with holidays, pension and early finish Friday (12.30pm)
