MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This new role will support the efficient and effective functioning of a busy Purchasing team with the opportunity to have responsibility for their own spend areas

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsibility for the effective Purchasing of low end spend areas
• Raise and Control Purchase orders for indirect areas
• Develop improved Purchasing processes
• Provide excellent customer service to suppliers & stakeholders, resolving enquiries in a helpful & efficient manner
• Co-ordinate packaging and raw material trials
• Manage the Non Conformance process
• Act as the interface with other stakeholder departments especially Technical and Marketing
• Generate and Maintain department and category specific reports
• Data capture for Category Management (ie researching and collating market information)
• Support the team on projects and tenders
• Maintain data on the MRP system - full training will be given
• Act as the interface with other stakeholder departments especially Technical and Marketing - a confident, assertive competent individual is sought.
• Co-ordinate packaging and raw material trials

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Charisma, Energy & Drive / Dynamic forward thinking individual
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business - excellent telephone skills
• Good analytical, logical, & numerical ability
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Must use their own initiative and able to prioritise own workload
• Customer service experience is essential and the ability to work in a fast-paced team.
• Good level of Microsoft Office - Strong Excel skills - use of pivot tables and Vlook ups
• Purchasing Experience is preferred - although NOT ESSENTIAL
• Qualified or studying for CIPS - Desirable but not essential
• Experience of using MRP systems Desirable but not essential
• Car driver/own transport essential
