At Prestwick Service Center we are specialists in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft engine nacelles systems. As part of our planned continued expansion we require experienced individuals who will contribute to our success, whilst upholding our reputation as a leading provider of quality MRO services with our European and Middle Eastern customers.

An opportunity has arisen at our Prestwick Service Centre for a Temporary Buyer to support our business which will include the following.

Key Responsibilities:

Working within a product focused business unit, you will be responsible for all aspects of procurement including the procurement of materials, parts and services, provisioning of materials and parts based on business requirements, ensuring that delivery dates support business and customer requirements, and working closely with suppliers to develop relationships and manage supplier performance.

Candidate essential requirements:

  • A self-motivated individual with procurement experience in a fast-paced environment with expertise in purchasing mechanical and electrical components.
  • First class organisational skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure to effectively manage the material planning process including expediting critical orders.
  • Proactive management of supplier lead-times and safety stock requirements against forecast to ensure part shortages do not impact on operations.
  • Proven track record of driving supplier improvements through the use of supplier scorecards and structured formal QBR's.
  • Experience of using SAP to manage parts supply including works order management, raising purchase orders and purchase order management.
  • Management of on-hand inventory to ensure inventory efficiency is maintained.
  • Ability to build strong relationships within the business through effective communication and the delivery of positive results.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate with an excellent understanding of MS Excel and Word.
  • Sound understanding of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.

Compliance with all company policies and procedures inclusive of EH&S, Code of Ethics, Intellectual Property and International Trade Compliance requirements is a must.

Must be willing to travel both within the UK and Internationally although travel is not excessive.
