We are seeking a Supply Chain Planner on behalf of a global chemical distribution company based in Wilmslow. You will execute the purchase and inventory management of product groups in order to meet customer requirements and customer satisfaction, with focus on service and achieve cost leadership.

As a Supply Chain Planner you will ensure our clients products supplies follow the most cost-efficient supply chains for optimum product competitiveness at region of application

What is expected of the Supply Chain Planner;

  • Purchase with suppliers contracted by Product Management
  • Combine material requirements into efficient purchases or according to Supplier's rules (like full truck ordering)
  • Purchase with European Distribution Center
  • Inventory management
  • Availability for sales
  • Total inventory to target
  • Access inventory reduction
  • Manage and report Bad inventory with Sites, Product Management and Sales
  • Product Segmentation
  • Reorderpoints and Safety Stocks
  • Monitor On Time shipments to customers
  • Daily check for deviations from the plan to avoid out-of-stocks, delays in customer deliveries, excess inventory (exception reporting and follow up)
  • Communicate clearly around the supply situation, customer and supplier requirements and costs
  • Shipments between plants (Stock Transfer Orders)
  • Shipping inbound with carriers contracted by Logistics
  • Cost-efficiency and quality control of the supply flows
  • Non-conformances handling
  • Escalation management and coordination (fast, clear and detailed communication to all stakeholders)
  • Continuous Process Improvement on planning processes linking to business requirements
  • Responsible for maintenance of Planning Parameters (Master data)
  • Point of Contact for planners in other locations, Product Management and Customer Service
  • Perform other tasks as required


What we look for in a Supply Chain Planner;

  • Education: bachelor or university degree or compensation in experience
  • SAP experience, MS Excel experience or ability to learn
  • Fluent in English, Second European language is a plus
  • Team player
  • 4 years of relevant working experience in planning, transport, customer service is a plus
  • Retail or Chemical experience is a plus
  • Flexible
  • High degree of ownership
  • Pro-active
