Supply Chain Category Buyer

Supply Chain Category Buyer - Bedford - Permanent - £40,000 DOE

ARM are looking for a Supply Chain Category Buyer to join one of our Manufacturing clients in Bedford on a permanent basis

The Role:

To support the Supply Chain objectives by managing and improving the overall supplier commercial relationship and mitigating supply chain risk.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the selection of the best value supplier for the designated categories of supply
• Manage the part costs in line with budget expectations
• Collate and retain up to date cost information for the designated categories
• Ensure that supplier agreements/terms and conditions are in place
• Ensure that order coverage is in place
• Champion supplier performance improvement
• Develop and implement a risk assessment measure

Requirements:

• 5 years in a Purchasing role in a manufacturing / Engineering environment
• Experience in negotiating commercial agreements
• Experience delivering costs down in a Manufacturing environment
• Preferably have some Category Management experience
• Preferably CIPS qualified
