NRG is delighted to be working with a leading charitable organisation in Sunderland. Reporting into the Chief Executive, you will be responsible for Finance, IT, HR and various other departments within an exciting, reputable business.

Main duties in the role will include Leading the support teams to ensure the Charity, and associated companies in the group, are supported efficiently, effectively and pro-actively at a high level.

You will have full responsibility for the effective management of all finance functions across the Charity and associated companies.

Responsibilities:

· Management of the small finance team

· Responsible for the efficient running of all central service teams in the provision of quality support service

· Ensure monthly management accounts are prepared to timetable

· Ensure statutory accounts are prepared with the inclusion of management of year end audits

· Development, management and monitoring of financial systems and control procedures

· Ownership of financial management of all Foundation group companies including Beacon of Light School

· Reporting at high-level to Chairman, CEO, Boards and Committees as required, both documentary and verbal

· As the Company Secretary, oversee the appointment of external and internal auditors plus any other consultants required from time to time

· Responsible for the efficient administration of the organisation, particularly with regard to ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and for ensuring that decisions of the Board of Trustees are implemented

· Run the Audit Committee including papers, meetings and attendance

· Appoint and consult with an Internal Auditor, following guidance from the Audit Committee

· Oversee HR functions and Data Protection policies, ensuring legal requirements are met, in coordination with the Head of Quality and Head of HR and Admin

· Align employee procedures including induction, training, appraisal and observation to business objectives and strategy ensuring KPIs are relevant and maintained

· Develop training and development systems that ensure quality is delivered throughout central services

· Oversee and develop quality assurance mechanisms, ensuring regular audits and observations are undertaken and monitored

· Work within the established administrative and financial systems to ensure smooth running/quality of projects.

· Contribute to the processes of forward planning, monitoring and evaluation.

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Finance professional with a demonstrated background in a similar role. You will have a strong technical accounting background, with experience in running a team and a business.

Experience in the production of Charitable accounts would be advantageous, however is not essential.

Experience in covering HR, IT and other departments would also be a great advantage.
