Scope of the Role

The primary function of the Merchandise & Supply Chain department is to trade the company through the effective management and planning of stocks. This includes managing intake, sales forecasts and monitoring DC and consignment store stock levels.

The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for assisting the Senior Supply Chain Analyst in the purchasing, intake and distribution of merchandise in order to maximize sales, margin and stock turn within the departments of responsibility.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in a Supply Chain and/or Merchandising role in either an FMCG or retail environment
  • Analytical skills to identify patterns and trends for forecasting
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines
  • A creative thinker who is able to develop a range of options to mitigate risk and maximise opportunities
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to Ethics and Compliance and the DCC Group Code of Conduct

Key Responsibilities

Forecasting

  • Assist the Senior Supply Chain Analyst with the Monthly Forecast review, analyzing historic demand and stock levels, challenging forecasts as necessary
  • Using all available information such as customer intake plans and stock levels, assist the Senior Supply Chain Analyst in identifying trends and patterns to enrich the forward forecast
  • Review forecasts with sales team on monthly basis remaining fully conversant with customer activity such as promotions, range launches and new and de- listings
  • Remain fully conversant in sales orders received highlighting any opportunities and risks to the Senior Analyst
  • Remain fully conversant in product knowledge with full understanding of product lifecycle to aid forecasting
  • Ensure all new business forecasts are validated and acted upon quickly, highlighting any risk to forecast due to lead times, MOQ etc.

Stock Management

  • Assist Senior Analyst in identifying optimum Stock holding per sku and prepare quantities to order ensuring these are aligned to forecasted sales
  • Raise all purchase orders/enquires with suppliers in a timely manner
  • Confirm all orders with suppliers within an agreed time frame, ensuring ETAs, cost prices and INCO terms are agreed. Ensure all POs and PIs are received in line with critical path
  • Ensure Senior Analyst is aware of any issues or differences to requirements
  • Review NOOS lines on a weekly basis, highlighting any stock issues to Senior Analyst
  • Assist Senior Analyst in the review of slow and fast moving lines
  • Assist in the production of weekly reports for assigned departments
  • Remain fully aware and monitor critical path of key products for launch ensuring any issues are highlighted proposing commercial decisions to mitigate any risk
  • Working closely with the Senior Analyst and Logistics coordinator review daily shipping exceptions and advise of actions ensuring Senior Analyst is aware of any risk
  • Prepare information for weekly intake meeting and be able to provide an update on the status of all orders due
  • Actively ensure all orders are delivered on time, working closely with logistics coordinator and suppliers and ensure all ETAs are up to date
  • Work closely with Logistics coordinator to ensure all GIDs are resolved within 5 day service level agreement
  • Prepare on order reports to share order books with suppliers with weekly contact to discuss any issues or exceptions
  • Ensure all Master Data issues are flagged to Purchasing
  • Assist Senior Analyst in producing range review information as required

Relationship with others

  • Report to line manager on a regular basis
  • Maintain excellent communication links with key partners - Purchasing, sales and DC
  • Attend Channel trading meetings on rotational basis to share information
  • Ensure strong communication links between Kondor and suppliers
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with SC Analyst and Logistics coordinator, working together as a team to deliver optimum stock levels
