One of our most prestigious international clients is seeking a pro-active and operational minded Buyer to join their team in their Hatfield operation. My client has a nationwide presence across multiple sites and executes the very best customer experience at all times. They are looking for a Buyer to manage Long term inbound suppliers performance, seek out cost saving efficiencies, continuously improving and supporting the supply chain KPI's alongside managing poor performance of underachieving suppliers.

The role would suit someone with a background in managing suppliers and realising cost savings. Typically from a purchasing, buying or category buyer background.

The Buyer will be responsible for working alongside key support functions, management and trading teams and third parties to ensure the high standards of the central planning team are consistently met and developed. You must have fundamental Knowledge of managing supplier's long term performance, maximising efficiencies in the management of the supplier scorecard giving special attention to any poor performing suppliers. Whilst working with them in collaboration to realise continuous improvement and improve KPI results. In Return, you will be rewarded with a salary of £35,000pa plus fantastic pension's scheme, private medical insurance, life insurance, free shares, share save and up to 33 days holidays including bank holidays!

Buyer Job Role:

  • Performance manage suppliers results to required levels
  • Building sustainable relationships with suppliers. Across the companies network of logistics centres
  • Hosting regular meetings with suppliers to review performance
  • Managing long/short term strategic goals which will produce cost savings and efficiencies across the operation.
  • Ensuring suppliers are abiding by clients supplier manual and adhering to inbound rules.
  • Engaging with other key departments to ensure inventory efficiency is met to department's requirements.

Buyer Key skills/ Experiences:

  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment with good background knowledge of FMCG and Commercial supply chain
  • Being able to build effective and strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
  • A strong background in delivering and executing KPI's
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • MS Office skills including Excel up to intermediate level ideally
  • Travel is required, so a driving license is beneficial.
  • Flexibility and adaptable to change
  • Able to work off own initiative
  • Excellent organisational skills
