Warehouse and Logistics Manager

Our client, a leader in their field is looking for an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager to join their well established and respected team. With an attractive salarying offer of up to £45,000 with other additional benefits, this role offers progression and the ability to lead from the front.

Your overall responsibilities will be to manage a team of dispatch/warehouse operatives, oversee the operation of the logistics department including order preparation, collation, packing, transport and dispatch. You will be responsible for managing costs in line with the annual budgets and continuously work to improve systems and processes.

Your duties will include:

" Use and implement robust systems to monitor and manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs
" Conduct regular tenders to ensure our inbound/outbound freight and storage costs are competitive
" Making sure customer expectations are met or exceeded and continuous productivity improvements are being made that deliver optimal performance in terms of cost and working capital
" Implement systems and process to ensure that Warehouse capacity is optimised avoiding additional external storage costs
" Collaboration with commercial and procurement teams leading to higher stock turns and reduce inventory levels
" Ensure any upcoming new legislation or trade barriers that could negatively impact the ability to distribute products is identified and communicated at early stages
" Managing staff training issues and motivating members of the team to ensure productivity levels are maintained
" Manage annual budget and identify cost saving opportunities
" Planning future capacity requirements
" Liaising with internal departments, suppliers and transport companies to ensure efficient on time delivery
" Maintain standards of Health and Safety and security in the area
" Support QM department with auditing against agreed logistics processes, with the investigation of issues related to logistics and warehousing results in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to reduce the number of complaints

The ideal candidate will be preferably degree educated in Supply Chain Management, Business or in a related area with a major emphasis in Logistics and Warehouse Operations. You will have senior management experience in warehousing and logistics or within a 3PL environment. Experience in cost control, delivering and managing projects and the ability to manage at all levels will be paramount to this exciting role.

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager will be working days however flexibility will be required to work 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00 as and when with the business needs.
