H9 Technical are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to be based on a state of the art Energy from Waste facility in the Lincolnshire. As Operations Manager you will be responsible for the health and safety of all staff, contractors and visitors attending site. Operating the plant in an efficient and effective manner in line with the annual budget and minimise impact to the environment whilst operating. You will be responsible for the safe, compliant and profitable operation of the EFW operation facility on a 24/7 basis.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of the senior management team to ensure the safe and compliant operation of the plant
  • Understand and implement the company SHEQ Policy
  • Providing leadership and direction the Operations, Cleaning, Performance and Input/output teams.
  • Developing a yearly business plan and budget for the operations team within the facility.
  • Ensuring the facility operates within all legislative guidelines and requirements
  • Ensure all employees and sub-contractors are suitably trained/competent to carry out the prescribed task and that the necessary licenses/certificates of competence are in force and appropriate.
  • Creating a culture where all incidents, accidents and near misses, are reported and resolved without undue delay
  • Ensure accident/incident and near-miss reporting procedures are understood and complied with.
  • Chairing the morning meetings to plan the next 24 hours of operational activities
  • Conduct Risk Assessments on activities within their site(s) ensuring that the methods and systems of work are safe.
  • Ensure that, where obligated, the Environment Permit is adhered to.

Qualifications & Experience

  • HNC/HND Qualification or Equivalent in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience working in a Process, Power, Nuclear or Recycling environment.
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Experience of carrying out the role of Senior Authorised Person.
  • Experience of working in a technical and challenging environment.
  • Strong leadership skills involving a multi-disciplined team.
  • Proven ability to select and build strong teams
