Purchasing Assistant

My client is currently recruiting for a purchasing assistant to join their world leading company based in Ashby. They are looking for a self-motivated individual who has previously worked in administration for more than 1 year.

My client is offering a salary of £18,950.

This role is a 6 month fixed term contract.

Role Purpose

To assist the Direct Materials Purchasing team in daily activities that support availability via routine replenishment of planned items into the distribution centre. Ensuring order data is accurately loaded into the ERP system to generate orders and transmitted onto and confirmed with suppliers each week. Also providing inbound shipment data to facilitate accurate receipt of goods for main suppliers is critical for continuous operation and inbound flow of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Ownership of the ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) process in line with the requirements of both Purchasing and Goods-In, facilitating the smooth flow of materials into the DC from suppliers

• Ensuring all MIN MAX / MRP system generated orders are submitted to suppliers, and any order adjustments made according to order acknowledgements

• Resolve invoice queries relating to replenishment orders brought to attention by accounts payable

• Updating relevant databases daily to ensure information used is correct

• Raise credit claims working with Quality team, Goods-Inwards and suppliers to recover costs

• On a weekly basis ensure returns are actioned working closely with Goods-Inwards

• Support the ‘shortages' process

• Assist with any other reasonable task

Education and qualifications needed

• •Grade ‘C' or greater in Mathematics, English

• Administration experience of more than 1 year
