Job Details

A leading insurance business embarking on an exciting phase of growth and development is recruiting a Procurement Specialist to support across IT spend categories. The Procurement Specialist will work within the IT team itself and report directly to the IT Asset and Sourcing Manager. As a key member of the team you will play a pivotal role in the ongoing strategic delivery of IT Procurement activities.

The role involves leading negotiations with existing suppliers to procure the relevant software licenses, whilst also analysing and procuring new IT systems where required. The Procurement Specialist will also control and administer asset records (Hardware, Software, Purchases and current license position) using various information database and discovery tools.

Responsibilities include:

· Ensure efficient ongoing management of IT assets, which includes making relevant recommendations to streamline processes, conducting regular audits and maintaining accurate records

· Act as the procurement representative for key IT stakeholders, demonstrating commercial acumen throughout all communications

· Conduct analysis of IT spend and present relevant data reports to management, making recommendations where required

· Lead negotiations in conjunction with Legal department, ensuring best terms and conditions are achieved

Candidate profile required:

We are looking to appoint a candidate with working knowledge of both procurement processes and asset management. The role is two fold, with exposure to both areas, and thus an adaptable and versatile nature is key. Further skills and experience require are as follows;

 

· Sound understanding of procurement cycles and best practice processes

· Working knowledge of asset management processes / systems

· Confident individual with credible communication style

· Proactive nature and ability to engage people at all levels

· Analytical nature with advanced excel data management skills

· Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills

· Ability to work with autonomy and prioritise workload effectively
