Our client is currently looking for a Procurement Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

This is initially for 6 months but may be extended due to the nature of the business.

The duties and purpose of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • To assist the Procurement Manager in the management and coordination of efficient and effective Group Procurement services.
  • Lead on above and below threshold tenders. To manage and benchmark KPIs for the Group's supply chain, helping to drive continuous improvement and maintain quality and service standards.
  • Cost benchmarking.
  • Management of Group Contracts Register, including coordination and assessment of contract commissioning projects.
  • To carry out regular spend analysis to existing contracts that are in place to determine if projected savings are being made.
  • Assist in the delivery of all Group Procurement Frameworks and low spend procurement exercises.
  • To compile, review and implement the Group's Procurement guidance, procedures and toolkits to ensure that they add value to the Group's wider procurement aims and objectives and support effective procurement.
  • Development of the Groups KPIs for all supply chain.
  • Compile and manage the Group's Contracts Register ensuring it is kept up to date.
  • To assist the Procurement Manager to investigate and analyse internal procurement spend and future forecasts, identifying cost and service efficiency savings through procurement profiling, planning and challenging business needs.
  • Perform procurement audits to ensure compliance.
  • Proven track record of managing tenders.
  • To monitor and provide reports on supplier spend to key contracts in place to ensure projected savings are accurate and being met in accordance to the procurement plan.
  • To provide procurement advice and support to staff as required including the provision of comprehensive cost management, statistical and graphical information for use for reporting internally or externally.
  • To meet appraisal targets and support the delivery and achievement of overall business objectives.
  • To develop commitment to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
  • To adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions

The skills and experience required for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Previous experience in a procurement officer role or similar is essential for this role.
  • Previous experience within public sector procurement is also essential
  • Knowledge of OJEU is essential
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suites including Excel and Word.
  • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate with associates on a multitude of levels.
  • Experience within the property/housing sector is desirable but not essential.
