Sagewood Limited are an established international company helping customers source products to meet their commercial needs within the energy, medical, agricultural, aviation and laboratory research industries.
We are now seeking a Procurement Manager in our London office to oversee our supply chain operations with an international scope in the health and medical sectors.
Jobs duties and responsibilities
- Developing new purchasing policies to ensure budgeting requirements are met
- Receiving queries from our overseas offices in Africa and assigning the correct supplier to provide accurate quotations and proposals
- Liaise daily with overseas based partners in China to ensure production and deliveries are produced on time and in accordance with customer expectations
- Arranging factory acceptance tests and other pre-shipment testing requirements for customers by third party agencies
- Supporting the Management and Accounting department to manage supplier cost as well as pricing for products and services
- Managing junior staff
- Researching and identifying new products, trends and suppliers to help drive KPIs
Skills and Experience
- Experience in delivering projects subject to tight deadlines and specifications
- Prior experience and knowledge of the African market within international sales and projects
- Strong understanding of supply chain management and procedure
- Technical knowledge of health and medical products
- Familiarity working alongside Chinese manufacturers and suppliers
- Mandarin language skills desired
- Managing customer expectations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proven ability of maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and partners
- Able to collaborate efficiently in teams
- Can do attitude with flexibility to do what is needed to get the job done
