We are currently recruiting for an excellent opportunity for a real hands on Supply Chain manager. The role is based in Norfolk, near Norwich and will involve responsibility for materials supply and manufacture to customer order.

You will provide hands-on, effective and efficient management of all supplies in and out of the business. To help achieve optimal production capability through an accurate alignment of material supply to production needs. Working as part of the site management team you will manage materials, people, procedures and KPIs to ensure an effective and efficient supply chain.

• To manage the timely purchasing of materials to meet demand, tracking and expediting deliveries of materials
• To manage all aspects of the supply chain, material control and storage
• To develop KPIs & metrics for the function, identifying and implementing best practice and standards and liaise with production management regarding planning and smoothing
• Deliver site PSI goals and agreed budgetary and inventory targets
• Identify and drive action plans to achieves set targets, or to address deviations to expectation as required
• Build and maintain effective supplier relationships, resolving any materials related issues efficiently and effectively
• Track and report supplier performance, reviewing key metrics and managing supplier improvement programs as required
• Development & management of a delivery management system
• Develop production planning & scheduling, initiating shop floor control for the day to day control of the plan
• To track and report forecast accuracy by category and customer, enhancing business forecasting in order to achieve stock reduction, customer lead time reduction and to improve service levels
• Development of critical stock requirements based on customer impact and sites criticality assessment plan
• To track and report stock status (condition, quantities, life cycle, stock days, etc) versus budget and RF forecasts
• Loss & impact analysis, and outage planning for maintenance / trials
• Ensure ‘Goods In’ systems and controls are followed, verifying materials delivered meet purchase order requirements
• Ensure best practice 2nd & 3rd party auditing (storage & fleet)
• Give leadership and effective training and development to the sales & logistics colleagues, including implementing TDP’s and PDP’s
• Manage warehouse, end of line stocks, and other bought in product
• Succession planning to cover all critical job aspects
• Participate in site projects, including Kaizen programs, Lean & 3-YIP
• Occasional travel
• To perform any other reasonable instruction.

• Previous Supply Chain management experience in a high volume, high pace environment
• People management
• Experience gained within manufacturing environment
• Experience of Lean Sigma
• Experience of supply chain management software

• CIPS qualification is an advantage
• Minimum G.C.S.E (or equivalent) Mathematics at Grade C or above is essential
