We are seeking an enthusiastic team manager, knowledgeable and experienced in strategic procurement to take senior responsibility for a portfolio of medical devices covering paramedical and surgical products and ensuring the delivery of National strategies.

Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of contracts valued at circa £100 million. You will be expected to develop and implement portfolio strategies, adopt strategic sourcing processes and implement new technologies e.g. e-tendering and e-procurement. You will manage a team of procurement professionals and will be required to lead and motivate the team to ensure the delivery of customer-oriented best value contracts for the NHS in Scotland.

You will ideally have at least 8 years procurement experience with a minimum of 3 years at a senior level and should be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and excellent leadership skills. Written and verbal communication skills are key, as well as relationship management experience in dealing with a wide range of knowledgeable customers, suppliers and trade organisations. You should ideally be educated to degree level and be a professionally qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
